Our Tirzepatide Trek Begins

A few years ago, while traveling the country full-time in our RV (aka the FladPad), we hit that “Oh no, we feel huge” stage of van life. Between the gas station snacks, happy hours, potlucks, and every regional delicacy we “just had to try,” our health fell somewhere between margaritas and nachos.
Doctor’s appointments? Psh. We barely remembered what a scale looked like—until we saw ourselves in some unflattering camper selfies and realized… yeah, it was time for a reset.
That’s when we tried Semaglutide. Will lost a jaw-dropping 50 pounds. I dropped 30. Not bad for a couple of road-weary snack monsters. Even better? We kept most of that weight off for two solid years. But then…
We bought a piece of property.
Cue the cookouts. The bonfires. The “we’ll just have one more drink” nights with our traveling friends.
And wouldn’t you know it—those pounds came back like they’d been waiting behind a tree with a bottle of wine and a bag of kettle chips.
We gave Semaglutide another go, but this time it was different. The lower doses didn’t do a thing, and we ended up wasting vials while waiting to ramp back up to our previous effective dose. Frustrating. Expensive. And not the magic fix we were hoping for.
Enter: Tirzepatide 🧪
Now we’re back on the health wagon—and this time we’re riding first class.
After a lot of research (and let’s be real, TikToks), we’ve decided to upgrade to Tirzepatide. If Semaglutide was like bringing a butter knife to a food fight, Tirzepatide is the tactical spork of peptides. It's a dual-action GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist—which, in non-science speak, means it helps control appetite and blood sugar in two ways instead of one. Early studies show it can be even more effective for weight loss than its predecessor.
Basically: we’re calling in the big guns.
Why We’re Sharing This Journey
We’re not doctors. We’re not influencers. We’re just two regular humans with irregular appetites and a willingness to put our bodies (and egos) on the line in the name of science... and smaller pants.
If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Was that roll always there?” — or if you’re simply curious about peptide therapy and want to follow a real couple’s experience in real time — we invite you to join us.
We’ll be documenting the whole thing: the wins, the setbacks, the side effects, the awkward selfies, the loose skin, the “Holy crap, I can button these jeans again” moments. All of it.
Because maybe, just maybe, our FladFlab can help someone else feel a little less alone in their own journey.
Stay tuned. It's about to get lighter in here.
With slightly less fluff,
Will & Alison (aka The Flabwoods)
